1. Definitions
- “Platform” means the Indian Empires Story Book website and all associated services.
- “Developer” means Gowtham Ram M, the sole proprietor / individual developer operating this Platform.
- “User” means any person who accesses, browses, or registers on the Platform.
- “Content” means all text, stories, images, and materials displayed on the Platform.
- “Third-Party Services” means Firebase, Google Cloud, and AI generation services.
2. Nature of the Platform & Absolute Disclaimer of Liability
ALL STORIES ARE AI-GENERATED WORKS OF FICTION. The Platform does not claim historical accuracy, factual correctness, or scholarly rigour. Characters, events, dialogues, and depictions are entirely algorithmic outputs created by artificial intelligence models.
The Developer acts solely as a technical intermediary who operates the software pipeline. The Developer does not author, edit, endorse, fact-check, or guarantee any Content. The Developer exercises no editorial control over AI-generated outputs.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, the Developer disclaims all liability for:
- Any historical inaccuracies, anachronisms, or misrepresentations in stories.
- Any offence, distress, or emotional reaction caused by fictional Content.
- Any reliance placed by Users or third parties on Content as historical fact.
- Any indirect, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages.
- Third-party AI service failures, hallucinations, or harmful outputs.
The User expressly acknowledges that reliance on Content for academic, religious, political, or historical purposes is entirely at the User's own risk. See also our Disclaimer.
3. No Endorsement of Views
The Platform is religiously and politically neutral. Depiction of any empire, dynasty, ruler, religion, or cultural practice in a story does notconstitute endorsement, criticism, or promotion by the Developer. AI-generated portrayals are stochastic outputs and do not reflect the Developer's beliefs.
4. User Eligibility & Parental Consent
The Platform is designed for young readers. Accounts for users under 18 require a parent or guardian to provide consent during registration. By registering, the User (or their parent/guardian on their behalf) confirms legal capacity to enter into binding agreements under Indian law.
For users under 18, the Platform implements pragmatic parental consent (Option 2 under the DPDP Rules, 2025): the registering user declares their age band, provides a parent or guardian's name and email address, and affirms that the parent or guardian has approved use of the Platform. This affirmation, along with a timestamp and consent version identifier, is recorded at registration.
DigiLocker or Rule 10 identity-token verification is not yet implemented on this Platform. Verifiable digital parental consent via DigiLocker or equivalent government-issued identity tokens is planned as a future enhancement. Until then, the Platform relies on the declarative consent process described above.
The Developer reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts of users who misrepresent age, provide false guardian information, or otherwise breach these Terms.
5. Intellectual Property & Limited Licence
All software, code, UI/UX designs, and platform infrastructure are the exclusive property of the Developer. AI-generated stories and images are produced by third-party models; the Developer makes no proprietary claim to the underlying model weights or training data.
The User is granted a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, personal licence to read Content solely through the Platform interface. The User may not:
- Scrape, download, bulk-copy, or archive Content.
- Redistribute, publish, perform, or display Content publicly.
- Create derivative works, adaptations, or translations.
- Reverse-engineer the generation pipeline or API.
- Use automated tools (bots, scripts) to access the Platform.
Breach of this clause entitles the Developer to immediate termination, injunctive relief, and statutory damages under the IT Act, 2000 (Section 43, 66) and the Copyright Act, 1957.
6. User-Generated Data and Consent to Processing
By registering, the User consentsto the collection, processing, and storage of personal data as detailed in the Privacy Policy, including: name, email, password/authentication credentials, age band, parent/guardian name and email (for users under 18), consent metadata (affirmation, timestamp, consent version), reading progress, bookmarks, and story Q&A interactions.
This consent is obtained freely, with full knowledge, and for specific lawful purposes under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025.
The User acknowledges that Firebase (Google) acts as a Data Processor and that data may be stored in India (asia-south1 / Mumbai) and other jurisdictions with adequate safeguards.
7. AI Transparency
Story content is generated by third-party artificial intelligence models. The Developer does not train AI models on User personal data. AI models may produce inaccurate, inconsistent, or unexpected outputs (“hallucinations”). The Developer makes no warranty as to the accuracy, appropriateness, or suitability of AI-generated Content.
8. Third-Party Services & No Warranty
The Platform relies on Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Storage), Google Cloud, and AI generation APIs. The Developer provides no warranty as to the uptime, accuracy, or security of these third-party services. The Developer is not liable for service interruptions, data loss, or security breaches originating from third-party infrastructure.
The Platform is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for purpose, or non-infringement.
9. Limitation of Liability & Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law:
- The Developer's total aggregate liability shall not exceed INR 5,000 (Five Thousand Rupees), fixed and non-negotiable, regardless of whether the Platform is used free of charge or otherwise. No User has paid or will be required to pay any fee for access; therefore, the liability cap is expressly fixed at INR 5,000 and shall not be reduced to zero by operation of any “amount paid” clause.
- The Developer shall not be liable for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption.
- The Developer shall not be liable for any delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control (force majeure).
The User agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Developer from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including legal fees) arising from: (a) breach of these Terms, (b) misuse of the Platform, (c) violation of third-party rights, or (d) reliance on Content.
10. Dispute Resolution, Governing Law & Forum
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of India. Any dispute shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation for 30 days. If unresolved, the dispute shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, with a sole arbitrator appointed by the Developer. The seat of arbitration shall be Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and the language shall be English.
Notwithstanding the above, the Developer retains the right to seek injunctive or equitable relief in any competent court. Subject to arbitration, the exclusive jurisdiction for all disputes shall be the courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

12. Severability & Entire Agreement
If any provision is held invalid, the remainder shall continue in full force. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the User and the Developer regarding the Platform, superseding all prior communications.
13. Modifications
The Developer may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes shall be notified by email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes binding acceptance. If the User does not agree, they must immediately cease using the Platform and request account deletion.
